OMAHA, Neb. – Jessica Sidwell has decided to transfer to the College of Saint Mary to continue her education and soccer career with the Flames.
The 5-3 midfielder/forward is the daughter of Paul Sidwell and Lisa McGargill. She graduated from Papillion-La Vista High School in 2015 and has been studying at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since.
Sidwell plans to study human biology and physician assistant studies at CSM.
"I really appreciated the PA program and also feel that I will be able to succeed in a small-knit college like Saint Mary," Sidwell said.
At Papillion-La Vista, Sidwell played soccer and was a member of the cheer squad. Her greatest sports moment to date was beating rival Papio South 4-0 in soccer her senior year. She says Mia Hamm is her favorite sports hero and her hobbies include working out and spending time with family and friends.
When asked her greatest sports moment to date, she said: "My dad was my soccer coach for the first half of my life. I enjoyed having him push me to do my best on and off the field."
CSM Coach Maren McCrary thinks Sidwell will be a good addition to her squad in the fall.
"We are excited to have Jessica join our program," McCrary said. "She fits in really well with our team and the direction we are going."
