OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary Basketball Coach Jesse Flanagan is pleased to announce the signing of transfer student Amy Talavou.
Talavou graduated from Orange High School (Calif.) in 2015 and has been playing and studying at Santa Ann College since. The daughter of Iosefo and Moana Talavou is a 5-11 forward.
"We are super excited to add Amy to the roster," Flanagan said. "She will instantly fill a need in the post. She is very strong and is a tenacious rebounder. On the offensive end, she is very crafty and can finish around the rim. Amy is a very unselfish player and will be an outstanding teammate."
In high school, Talavou was a first team all-league player her senior year and a second team all-league player as a sophomore.
She says Candace Parker is her favorite sports hero and her hobbies include fishing, going to the beach and hanging out with friends.
Talavou plans to study business analytics and strategic communication at CSM.
"I liked the atmosphere of the campus when I went on my visit," Talavou said. "Also, everyone on campus was very welcoming."
