OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary Basketball Coach Jesse Flanagan is pleased to announce the signing of Keona Cadore to the Flames roster for the 2017-18 season. Cadore will continue her education and basketball career at CSM starting this fall.
The 5-7 guard is the daughter of Joseph Cadore and Tequila Ashley. Cadore is from Mims, Fla., and graduated from Astronaut High School in 2015. Since then she has been playing basketball and studying at Indian River State College.
She was a three-sport athlete in high school playing basketball, volleyball and also participating in track & field. In basketball she was first team all-conference, second-team all-conference, team MVP and captain and helped lead her team to back-to-back district championships.
Cadore plans to study kinesiology and thinks CSM will be a great fit.
"CSM was my choice because of the amazing family environment with a great academic staff and support system," she said.
Flanagan says Cadore is a strong student and will be a great addition to his squad.
"We are super excited to announce the addition of Keona," Flanagan said. "Keona is an outstanding person who is very hard-working. On the court she is an explosive player who can get to the rim whenever she wants. She also has an effective mid-range game. On the defensive end, she is a lockdown defender. She can guard on the perimeter, plus she can guard a post if need be.
"Overall, Keona is a great communicator who really understands the game of basketball."
