Huerta twins sign with CSM soccer program

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is excited to announce that twins Madelyn and Sophia Huerta have signed to continue their soccer careers with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.

The twins are the daughters of David and Xochitl Huerta and seniors at Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, Calif.

CSM Coach Jamison Parkhill said it will be great to get them both on campus and in his program.

"Both Madelyn and Sophia are players that elevate our culture,'' he said. "I credit our players for getting them to commit, because they were amazing on their visit. The deciding factor, according to them, was the ladies on the team and how welcoming they were from the get-go.''

Sophia Huerta enjoys drawing, painting, hiking and biking in her spare time. She said CSM had everything she was looking for.

"CSM was my college choice due to the amazing nursing program they provide and the competitive athletics that would give me the opportunity to play alongside my sister at the NAIA level,'' she said. "Not only was the campus beautiful, it had awesome facilities for athletes and students. The welcoming environment at CSM made me feel at home.''

Parkhill said Sophia Huerta will give the team a boost.

"We are super excited to have Sophia join us this fall!'' Parkhill said. "She is going to make our midfield group better right away. She is going to be a great student-athlete for our program and college. We are excited to see her in Flames colors for the next four years.''

In her free time, Madelyn Huerta enjoys shopping, hiking, drawing, swimming and biking. She said the nursing/soccer combination was too good to pass up.

"CSM offers a great nursing program that I would love to major in,'' she said. "Additionally, CSM allows nursing majors in their soccer program, which is a big reason why I chose this college.''

Parkhill said Madelyn Huerta also brings great potential to the pitch.

"If one Huerta is great, two is even better,'' he said. "We are super high on Madelyn, and she will make our midfield better from the start. She brings a high level to our program along with her sister. She will be great for the next four years for us, and we're super excited to have her in Omaha.''
