Flames roll to GPAC Invite team title
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The College of Saint Mary swim team won six of 14 events and cruised to the team title in the three-team GPAC Invitational on Saturday hosted by Morningside University.
Coach Liz Germonprez's crew finished with 684 team points to easily outdistance runner-up Dordt University (401) and third-place Morningside (317).
"The Flames had a fantastic season-opener,'' Germonprez said. "They have been bringing it in practice, and today they swam with a lot of heart. We have a solid baseline now as we go into heavier training.''
