Brown off to solid start at nationals
ELKHART, Ind. – Kylee Brown of College of Saint Mary walked away on Thursday from her first event at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships pleased, and ready for more.
The CSM junior finished 21st among 37 competitors in the 500 freestyle prelims in a time of 5:18.90 and did not advance to the evening final at the Beacon Health Aquatic Center. However, she left with positive feelings.
"It felt great,'' she said. "Good to be back. And looking forward to race the rest of the meet.''
Flames Coach Liz Germonprez said Brown "had a great morning swim'' and is looking forward to watching her standout in the rest of the meet.
Brown returns on Friday morning in the 200 freestyle prelims and will also compete in the 1,650 freestyle final on Saturday.
