Brown finishes strong in final performance at nationals

ELKHART, Ind. – Kylee Brown of College of Saint Mary wrapped up another outstanding meet at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at the Beacon Health Aquatic Center.

Brown finished 20th in a time of 18:38.97 in the 1,650 freestyle, the longest event of the weekend which requires tremendous endurance because it covers 66 lengths of the pool, or 33 laps.

A junior from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Brown competed in three events at the NAIA's showcase meet for a third consecutive season.

"I couldn't be more proud of KB's swims this week,'' CSM Coach Liz Germonprez said. "She is a swim professional: resilient and locked in.''

Brown said it was an honor to compete again in the national meet.

"I'm just happy to be here with my supportive coaches and mom, and all the people back home,'' she said.
