Maryland swimmer signs with Flames

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is thrilled to announce that Zoie Gregory has signed to continue her swimming career with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.

Gregory is a senior at Damascus High School in Damascus, Md. She is the daughter of Michael and Cynthia Gregory.

CSM Coach Liz Germonprez said Gregory will be a great addition to her program.

"I'm so excited to welcome Zoie to Flames swimming,'' she said. "She is a swim professional! She's a stroke technician, she's hungry, coachable, locks in at practice and talented!''

At Damascus, Gregory was a member of the 2025 state championship swim team. She also competed in cross country and field hockey.

Her favorite sports moment to date is breaking six minutes in the 500 free, and in her spare time she enjoys baking, cooking, gardening, American Sign Language (ASL), advocating, community service, singing and nature walks.

Gregory said she's excited to transition from her life in Maryland to Nebraska.

"I was looking for a small, faith-based school with a well-regarded nursing program, close to my home in Maryland where I could continue my passion for swimming,'' she said. "So how did I end up at CSM? Coach Liz. She called, even though I said I wanted to stay east of the Mississippi River, and convinced me to come for a visit.

"While I was preparing for my trip, I did my research on their nursing program, especially as it applied to pediatrics, and determined it was top notch. When I visited, I fell in love with the people and the campus, and in the end it offered me more than all of the other schools I was considering! I can't wait to be on campus and be a Flames swimmer!''

Germonprez said she's excited for Gregory's future.

"She'll make a great training partner and teammate,'' she said. "Zoie's a fantastic addition to our team and College of Saint Mary."
