Flames go 9-2 in doubles matches at KWU

SALINA, Kan. – The College of Saint Mary tennis team enjoyed an outstanding performance on Saturday at the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational, winning nine of the 11 doubles matches in which it competed.

"We had great results today,'' CSM Coach Michael Johnson said. "It was great doubles experience for the team before we head to next weekend's Hastings Invitational singles and doubles event.''

The team of Carolyna Truong and Iyannah Pardiwalla finished 4-0 on the day. They defeated Charis Yager and Jireh Gonzalez of Bethel, 6-4; defeated Sophia Guntren and Bianca Seminario of Morningside, 6-1; defeated Amy Holloway and Adah Branam of Tabor, 6-0; and defeated Karee Adam and Elena Jundt of Bethany, 6-3.

The team of Yana Gupta and Rishita Agarwal went 3-1 on the day. They defeated Alaeyah Chleboard and Emma Koenigseder of Avila, 6-1; defeated Addison Meyers and Ellie Peterson of Morningside, 7-5; defeated Meredith Denton and Lily Heline, 6-0; and lost to Karissa Wilson and Camila Lopez of Bethel, 6-4.

The team of Darece Van Auken and Abriana Reynosa went 2-1 in their contested matches. They defeated Lauren Higgins and Lexi Cook of Kansas Wesleyan, 6-3; defeated Sammy Reyburn and Viviana Bozich of Avila, 6-1; and lost to Elise Richardson and Emily Meyer of Bethany, 6-4.

The Flames will next compete at Hastings on Friday and Saturday.
