CSM’s Uchil named GPAC Tennis Player of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is proud to announce that Callista Uchil has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Uchil, a freshman from Dubai, UAE, earned the award for her outstanding performances during the week of March 16-22. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-26 GPAC Players of the Week, and Players and Coaches of the Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Callista Uchil, College of Saint Mary
Callista Uchil of the College of Saint Mary is this week's women's Player of the Week. Uchil went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 4-1 at No. 1 doubles with partner Noel Moreno as the Flames won all five matches on the week. Two of Uchil's three singles wins came in third-set tiebreakers: The win over St. Mary's College of Maryland lasted 2½ hours, while the win over Baker (Kan.) University clinched a 4-3 team victory.

Men's Tennis – Nick Velders, Concordia University
Nick Velders of Concordia University is this week's men's Player of the Week. Velders, a senior from Gelderland, The Netherlands, went 3-0 in both singles and doubles as Concordia went 2-1 as a team for the week. Velders remained unbeaten (13-0) in singles this season while winning three times in straight sets last week. Concordia stands at 12-3 heading into conference play.
