Flames are 4th seed, host GPAC tennis
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – College of Saint Mary is the fourth seed and will host the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament, which begins on Thursday.
The Flames will play fifth-seeded Midland University at 8 a.m. in a quarterfinal round match. The tournament will be played at the Koch Family Tennis Center if weather permits, and will be moved indoors to Genesis Westroads and the Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center if necessary.
Also at 8 a.m. on Thursday, third-seeded Doane University will meet sixth-seeded Hastings College in another quarterfinal.
The CSM/Midland winner will face top-seeded Morningside University in an 11:45 a.m. semifinal on Thursday, while the Doane/Hastings winner will meet second-seeded Concordia University in the other 11:45 a.m. semifinal.
The championship match will be played on Saturday.
The champion of the postseason tournament will advance to the NAIA Women's National Tennis Championship in Mobile, Alabama, at the Mobile Tennis Center from May 12 to 16.
CSM is also the host for the GPAC Men's Tennis Tournament, which will be Friday and Saturday. The same three venues are potential sites, depending on weather conditions.
