Flames septet set for indoor nationals

OMAHA, Neb. – Seven College of Saint Mary athletes on Thursday will begin a three-day run at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Fla.

You can watch the entire event online for free at NAIA Nationals. A total of 543 women will be competing for top billing in their respective events.

The Flames will have a program-record seven scoring opportunities at nationals, in a program-record five events.

Freshman Imani Skanes is the highest-ranked CSM qualifier, entering second in the long jump. Sophomore Mikaiya Rodgers has qualified 13th in the same event.

In the triple jump, sophomore Gozie Okafor has qualified eighth and Skanes 15th.

Sophomore Kara Muller has qualified 12th in the mile, while sophomore Olivia Elbert has advanced 15th in the 1,000.

CSM's 4x800 relay unit of Carly Henderson, Mira Fosmer, Muller and Elbert has qualified 10th.

Thursday, March 5

1:45 p.m.: 4x800 relay prelim: (Carly Henderson, Mira Fosmer, Kara Muller, Olivia Elbert)

3:30 p.m.: Triple jump prelim and final (Gozie Okafor, Imani Skanes)

Friday, March 6

10:45 a.m.: Mile prelim (Kara Muller)

11 a.m.: Long jump prelim and final (Imani Skanes, Mikaiya Rodgers)

2:45 p.m.: 1,000 prelim (Olivia Elbert)

5:10 p.m.: 4x800 relay final

Saturday, March 7

11:25 a.m.: Mile final

1:35 p.m.: 1,000 final
